PBS NewsHour features UGAMI research on Sapelo marsh

The SALTEx project, part of the Georgia Coastal Ecosystems Long-term Ecological Research (LTER) project, is featured in the PBS NewsHour documentary series on sea level rise, The Wild Side of Sea Level Rise.

The series explores basic research behind ocean expansion and its impact on coastal ecology.  Merryl Alber, director of UGMI and the GCE-LTER, and UGAMI investigators Chris Craft, Indiana University, and Chuck Hopkinson, University of Georgia, and others explained how saltwater intrusion has changed the ecosystem of the historically freshwater areas of the marsh on Sapelo Island.
