The Marine Institute is a non-degree granting unit of the University of Georgia's School of Marine Programs.
Graduate students who have completed their formal classroom studies at an accredited college or university and wish to pursue their degree requirement research in estuarine or marine ecological studies are encouraged to pursue their research at UGAMI. University classes with a reasonable need for access to Sapelo Island for educational purposes are encouraged to apply to UGAMI. See Visiting the Institute for further information on how to apply for access and accommodations. Also see our Research Facilities web page.
Undergraduate Internships
Currently, the Marine Institute and the Friends of the University of Georgia Marine Institute sponsor 1 – 2 undergraduate interns each summer. Please contact Dr. Bill Miller, bmiller@uga.edu if you are interested.
